And Then I Touched It.

Sometimes I wish our house was finished, just so we could live in it you know? But it's not! However, we did get all of the windows in, storm windows taken off, and the new windows caulked--which I even learned to do. I also assisted in taking off some of the storm windows...and successfully broke one of the huge ones. Glass. Everywhere. Yay, me!

Here is what our house looks like without all the nasty storm windows:

Our house on a prettier day!

Yay! Every time we drive by it I say hello and smile because it just looks so much better!

Sunday came around last week and My Honeypie was all like, "What do you want to do?" and normally we take turns picking/arguing about whose turn it is to pick. Except for this day I said, "Let's go take a walk at our house!" So we did. and found this:

Rwaaaar! It's a cow skull.

Kitchen Storage

I heart BHG. and I love awesome storage/organizational solutions! Check some of these out:

Pull out storage:

They all look so neat and so clean.

Hide-away storage:

Way cool, because microwaves always end up looking nasty.

[caption id="attachment_348" align="aligncenter" width="225" caption="BHG.com"][/caption]

Perfect. I hate when my trash is out in the open. Gross.

Knife storage:

It has multiple layers!! How cool is that?

Who Likes the Color Orange?!

Not me!!! I think it's mostly gross, but it's My Honeypie's favo color. Yuck. My favorite colors are blue and yellow. Sometimes I try and think of how I can incorporate this orange color into our home-to-be...and all I can muster is maybe some orange flowers. My Honeypie is a good man and just says, "I don't care" when I ask him if he wants orange in our house.

Today I tried killing some time with that in mind. and I came across some orange stuff. In houses. That I like. and don't like.

Here:

[caption id="attachment_369" align="aligncenter" width="225" caption="YES. BHG.com"][/caption]

[caption id="attachment_371" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="NO."][/caption]

[caption id="attachment_372" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="YES. bhg.com"][/caption]

[caption id="attachment_373" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="NO."][/caption]

[caption id="attachment_374" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Yes."][/caption]

[caption id="attachment_375" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="NOOOOOOOOOOO!"][/caption]

[caption id="attachment_376" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Yes? I'm mostly confused on the whole headboard thing."][/caption]

[caption id="attachment_377" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Yes. But it almost looks like a candy corn up in there."][/caption]

Okay. So I really don't like all orange rooms. It's so...overpowering! But some people do. I mean, my mom's favorite color is lime green! She, however, did not paint her entire art studio lime green. It's classy. Like this:

[caption id="attachment_378" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="no, this is not my mom's studio."][/caption]

[caption id="attachment_382" align="aligncenter" width="225" caption="THIS is her studio. Part of it anyway. I had to google it to find a picture."][/caption]

this is her site.

I discovered that in my searching that even though I mostly hate the color orange,  I also mostly like orange accents.

[caption id="attachment_379" align="aligncenter" width="180" caption="Yes."][/caption]

[caption id="attachment_380" align="aligncenter" width="158" caption="Yes."][/caption]

[caption id="attachment_381" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Double Yes. On a blue wall."][/caption]

I think I can maybe incorporate this color.

 What's your favorite color?

You Know How?

You know how there's that whole part in Beauty and the Beast? Where Beauty is in the library (at the beginning of the movie) on the ladder, and she rolls down the wall of shelves right before she's about to break into song?

Yup.

I decided that I want a library ladder...in my kitchen.

I'm a little ahead of myself yet again, but I like to have an idea in my head of what I want! We have almost got everything cleared out enough at our house to start doing the electrical and plumbing. Yay!

Victorian Cottage in New York

My mom sent me this link awhile ago. Every so often I like to go back and look at it. This woman named Sandra Foster transformed this hunting cabin on her property into a beautiful little getaway. Here are a couple of pics:
