Some House Happenings

I haven't mentioned our house lately. Nathanael just finished putting a door in the doorway between the mudroom and the kitchen. Remember this door from waaaay back that I just had to have? It was a a local scrap yard. 

Well, here it is! In our house. Sorry for all the super low quality pictures. 

I plan on putting either a chalkboard or a decorative piece of metal grate on top of some wood. It won't happen today, but it WILL happen. I also plan to clean it. :) 

We also switched stoves with Nathanael's sister, Ruth. HUGE blessing and thanks! That tiny wood stove wasn't cutting it, but now we stay super warm. Nathanael discovered that it is really a coal burning stove, so we want to buy some coal just to test it out.

I started painting our dining room table (finally) and it will hopefully be finished on Saturday. Be on the look out!

Oh, and have a happy, safe, responsible New Year's Eve! ;)

We Changed our Minds

{phlogging} Hey remember how we started our wood stove last week? We changed our minds and decided to put it somewhere else. It just works better this way. Next week we will punch it through the roof!

I don't really make resolutions for the year. I guess I made one last year, but that mostly involved a "dream board" and getting my husband to fall in love with me. It worked :)

This year, I think we both have the same goal(s) even though we haven't talked about it: Have baby and finish the house. In that order. Twelve days until the ETA! If he is on time...whatev. Moving on!

Our house is starting to look like a house! For the longest time it has just been the skeleton, but now there are pipes and water lines and electrical! Yes! The electrical is all finished!

 My Honeypie also punched out holes for the plumbing vents and tarred them up...this is what he looked like when he got home:

Apparently his trowel broke, so he used his hands...but I guess gasoline cleans everything off!
